Day 32

1 Corinthians 15:51 - “Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed”

Have you ever snatched coins from the back of your elbow with the same hand? When I was a teenager, I was determined to learn to perform this trick. I would try to snatch one quarter. I tried for more than an hour to do it one time. I kept knocking the quarter around the room. Finally, I moved fast enough to catch it. I snatched it out of the air. Later that night, I snatched more than twenty coins.

One day, God will snatch a generation of believers from the earth in an event called the rapture of the church. Paul wrote to explain this mystery. Not all Christians will die because some will be snatched away from the earth. Jesus will come again. The dead in Christ will be raised from the dead and changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye at the last trumpet. Those of us who are alive and remain will be snatched away, raptured, and changed in the air.

Our bodies will not be destroyed. Our remains will be taken away and then used as raw material for our glorified bodies. These corruptible bodies must put on incorruption. These mortal bodies must put on immortality. We will be changed into the likeness of the glorious body of the Lord Jesus Christ. What a day that will be when we see the Lord Jesus Christ face to face. When will that be? That is the mystery. Live today like it is the last day before we see Jesus.
