Luke 24:49 - Behold, I send the Promise of My Father upon you; but tarry in the city of Jerusalem until you are endued with power from on high."
I heard about a lady who called into the computer technical support. She could not get her computer to turn on. She called in and waited to finally speak with the agent. The youthful expert walked through every maneuver. Check to see if the on/off button has been depressed. She assured him that it had. Check to see if the cord is plugged into the back of the computer. She assured him that it had. Check and see if the cord is plugged into the surge protector strip. Make sure that the power strip is turned on. Make sure that the power strip is plugged into the wall. She did all of that and still the computer would not turn on.
The phone she was speaking on began to beep. She said that she would have to call him back later because her cell phone battery was going out. He said, just give me your number and I will call you on the landline. She said, “Oh no, you can't do that because the power has been out at my house for several hours.”
The Holy Trinity determined that the church would never have a power outage. The Father promised the Spirit would come. The Son prepared for the Spirit to come. The Spirit of God empowers every believer to serve in the body and fulfill the Great Commission.
What are you doing today that requires the power of the Holy Spirit? He has filled us with His divine ability to do the ministry He desires. You now can live in freedom from the power of sin. Behold, you are empowered by the Spirit.
