Revelation 19:11 - Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war.
Have you ever suffered injustice? One of our African American men grew up in a family of migrant farm workers in Orlando. His family, led by his father, would spend 6 months in Orlando working in citrus and 6 months in the northeast working in cranberry farms. He recounted to me the harrowing travels from here to the northeast through the southern states. They would be refused service, made to get the food from a restaurant from the back of the establishment, and experience terrifying interactions with citizens, store owners, and law enforcement. Unfortunately, many have endured injustices. All injustices will have a day of reckoning.
Jesus Christ is coming again. He will set this world aright. He is faithful and true and in righteousness He judges and makes war. Jesus will establish His kingdom on this earth. When He came the first time, He rode a donkey’s colt. When He comes a second time, He will be riding a white horse for victory is the Lord’s. He is the God of vengeance. The Lord says “vengeance belongs to Me, I will repay” (Romans 12:19). Paul wrote that Jesus is coming again “taking vengeance with flaming fire on those who don’t know God and on those who don’t obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus” (2 Thess. 1:8).
This blood-soaked world cries out to heaven looking for the righteous judgment of the Lord. May we minister the gospel to a world marked for judgment with the appropriate urgency knowing that the days are short. Night is coming when no one can work anymore.
