Day 37

Revelation 3:20 - Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.

Have you ever locked yourself out of your car or your house? One of the first times that we left our sons at home alone, they locked themselves out of the house. We had a tricky backdoor and on occasion it would lock the knob upon closing. They had no phone to call so they went next door and asked to use the neighbor’s phone. We hurried home and found them on the back patio waiting to be delivered. Whenever I have locked myself out, I have felt so foolish. I should have been aware of my keys. Our sons felt that way.

Few have locked themselves out of their car or their house, but many have locked Christ out of their hearts. Jesus comes to the door of the church, the home, or the life and knocks. He calls out to us through His word, through His creation, and through His Spirit. He would like to come into our lonely, broken, fleshly hearts. We must open the door and let Him in. He will not take your home or your heart by force. Jesus comes into a life upon invitation.

Jesus becomes more than a roommate when He moves into your life. He rearranges things to make everything fit His agenda to make you holy and righteous. He wants you to enjoy life and see good days. He withholds no good thing from you. When He finishes, your life fills with joy, beauty, authority, and grace. Jesus makes you powerful, peaceful, and helpful. Would you open the door for Christ today? Let Him in and let Him lead.
