Day 11

Psalm 33:18 – “Behold, the eye of the LORD is on those who fear Him, On those who hope in His mercy,”

The eye is such an incredible organ which is very intricate in its detail and complex in its design and function. The complexity and function of the eye is really no surprise, though, when you consider that God Himself is the One who meticulously designed it and makes it all work. Aren’t you grateful for your eyes and God’s wonderful gift of sight?

In Matthew 6:22-23, Jesus used an analogy of the human eye to teach a lesson on spiritual sight, forbidding earthly treasures for security. In order to focus on heaven and store treasure there, you have to see clearly. He said that “the eye is the lamp of the body.” It is through the eye that the body receives illumination and can see. If the eye is good, the whole body is flooded with light. But if the eye is bad, then vision is impaired. Instead of light, there is darkness. Unless your spiritual perspective is directed by God, you’ll wander in the dark.

The psalmist mentions in Psalm 33:18 an eye that was present before the beginning of time—the eye of the LORD. God sees and is involved in every detail of the affairs of those who fear (reverence) Him and place their hope in Him. He sits enthroned high over the earth, but that does not make Him distant, rather, He is so great that He observes all the deeds of mankind. Even further, His eye is on those who fear Him, to care for them. He sees what is behind and what is ahead, all the threats, all the dangers. God sees all and knows all.

Dear friend, God loves you, cares for you, and has a wonderful plan for your life. God is aware of your every need. Behold, His eye is observing you. Put your hope in His unfailing love, grace, peace, and mercy
