Deuteronomy 11:26- "Behold, I set before you today a blessing and a curse"
Have you ever been entrusted with something valuable? When I was a senior in high school, I was asked to drive the lead car in the Christmas parade in my small home town. The car was a Mercedes convertible 450 SL which belonged to a family friend. My task was to go to the home, pick up the car, drive it to the parade, meet the Grand Marshall and drive him through town on the parade route. I was nervous because the road was a two lane winding road with severe curves and steep drop offs. As an impetuous teenager, I was tempted to see how the high performance car handled in such challenging conditions and terrain. By God’s grace, I was able to deliver the car back to the home without a scratch.
God has entrusted all of us with the same precious, valuable prize: today. God has set before us today. Do you see it? The gift brings with it responsibility and a choice. We have two choices requiring one decision. We can choose a blessing or we can chose a curse.
You can obey God and His word and be blessed. You can also disobey God’s word and experience the pain of the curse of God. There are consequences to our actions. Don’t ruin the valuable privilege of life by choosing the curse. Choose blessing - choose life - choose to obey God today.
