Day 1

Genesis 28:15 – "Behold, I am with you and will keep you wherever you go, and will bring you back to this land; for I will not leave you until I have done what I have spoken to you."

In our world, attention is king. How many followers? How many views? How many clicks? These questions drive the world of marketing, media, and commerce. Everyone is competing for your attention.

God does not compete for your attention. He simply calls for it. He says “Behold” when He wants you to look and ponder what He is doing, has done, or will do. God has chosen to reveal Himself but we may miss it and miss Him.

Jacob, in Genesis 28, was fleeing from his brother Esau who intended to kill him. Jacob was a cheat and a hustler. He seemed to trick his way out of trouble and into the riches and lifestyle that he wanted even when it was stolen. When Jacob stole Esau’s blessing from his father through the most elaborate Halloween-like costume to disguise himself as Esau to his nearly blind father, Esau had enough and was livid.

Esau hunted for a living and in Esau’s rage, Jacob became the hunted. Jacob came to Bethel and laid down in exhaustion and fell asleep. God gave him a vision and woke him up.

God made a promise to Jacob that applies to us. God promised to be with him. God promised to keep him. God promised to finish what he has promised even though Jacob was living away from the will of God in that moment. Jacob would later repent, be restored and return to the land just as God promised.

Behold, God has a plan for you.
Behold, God will finish what He has started.
Behold, we have a land waiting for us in heaven.

Look, God is with you. Now serve Him today!
