March 6 - What Do You Believe?

1 John 1:1-4

What do you believe? Every day in America, people share their opinions about what they think. Sometimes they share things that are polluted with falsified information. But, no matter what people believe, their belief affects how they live. If we were to look over our finances, we would see that we spend money on those things that we value. What does your life and finances show people about what you believe to be true? We must understand that our life is a living testimony of what we believe.

In today's passage, John unpacked what he believed to be true because he has seen, touched, and heard Jesus after His resurrection from the dead. John wholeheartedly believed Jesus, our savior, came into this world to rescue the world from the curse of sin. Because Jesus broke the curse of death, we now have fellowship and communion with God.

The first chapter of 1 John provides many encouraging words and challenges that help us as believers form our belief system. Take five to ten minutes to sit down and write what you believe to be true about God, Jesus, the Bible, the Holy Spirit, and about your salvation. Use this information to help you focus on what you believe to be true about Jesus, the Bible, your salvation, and your relationship with God.

Where you are sitting right now begin to pray for the people you have been reaching out to over these 40 days of Focus. Pray for their walk with God or for them to come to know Jesus as their Savior.

Pray specifically for God to move in your workplace, school, life, and within Church at the Cross.
