Day 18

Clayton Cloer, Senior Pastor

Isaiah 35:4 - Say to those who are fearful-hearted, "Be strong, do not fear! Behold, your God will come with vengeance, with the recompense of God; He will come and save you."

Have you ever become fearful-hearted? The stock market is dropping, inflation is rising, and you are fearful that you will not have enough money. The Covid cases begin to soar and so are your nerves about getting this virus. Maybe you are fearful for your own children - their faith, their emotional health, and their future in a world gone crazy. It could be that you are facing big decisions about life: college, marriage, or a job change, and you are fearful. The world and life can be a fearful place.

God spoke to a people amid a time of extreme fear. The Assyrian army was marching through and destroying cities. God seemed distant when Isaiah stood to speak to the people of God. “Be strong, do not fear” the Lord said. God sees your struggle and knows the natural human tendency to be afraid. Be strong because your God has not abandoned you. He will come and intervene. God will provide. God will save you.

Have you ever had to count on someone in a big way? I traveled to a foreign country on one occasion and counted on someone to be my guide from the time I arrived until the time I departed. I would have been abandoned and lost without my guide. The person was trustworthy, and they took great care of me. The trip was a success but there were moments of doubt. Are you struggling with moments of doubt? Be strong, trust in the Lord because He will save you.

PRAYER FOCUS: Pray that the love of Jesus will permeate our CATC / CFCA campus and will be compassionately shown to all people who come to our campus.
